Custom made by Sara Burr Arnold, these embroidered patches commemorate your visit to Trout Lake, Washington and Mt. Adams country. Each patch is a 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" oval.
Rising to 12,276 feet, Mt. Adams is the second tallest mountain in Washington State. In volume it is the largest mountain in the state, and the second largest in the Cascade Range.
Mt. Adams is an active volcano with potential for future eruptions. It last erupted, from vents on the flank, about 1000 years ago.
Mt. Adams frequently has debris avalanches and, less frequently, lahars (a landslide or mudflow of volcanic debris, especially after a heavy rainfall). About 6000 years ago a lahar flowed about 35 miles down the White Salmon river valley reaching the vicinity of Husum.
